Environmental, Social, Governance

Dark Green Group create truly closed loop economies.

Our projects generate green energy from organic waste streams and the environment. Focussing on renewable waste streams, we support the local authority as well as commercial, waste and farming sectors through green commodity production such as bio-methane and organic fertilisers.

We further support local communities via our Community Wealth Fund and aim to do good where we establish energy generation.

  • Ethical leadership is just one part of societies quest to stop environmental destruction and live in harmony with nature.

How can our business minimise negative effects? How can we reduce pressure on natural resources? How can we restore and regenerate?  These are the questions that shape everything we do, from daily business operations to designing infrastructure projects.

Environmental Stewardship & Circularity is a core topic for Dark Green Group as we strive to mitigate actual and potential environmental impact of the business operations and our entire supply chain.

Establishing and contributing to the circular economy is essential to tackle the climate crisis and issues such as biodiversity loss and pollution.

Environmental Stewardship & Circularity is a process of continuous improvement and Dark Green Group is committed to the continual improvement of the circular and green energy economies.

  • Dark Green Group acts as Local Business Ambassador for the area, supporting start-ups and invigorating the circular economy, energy transition and technological development.

  • rDME (renewable Dimethyl Ether) is a low carbon, renewable fuel produced from waste and biogas sources.

In our quest to drive forward UK future fuels development, Dark Green Group commissioned a review into rDME to understand the utilisation of the current technology.

Key question are posed about this emerging opportunity and how best to mitigate GHG (Green House Gases) from existing internal combustion engines or where electric vehicles and motors may be impractical.

  • Dark Green Group believes in future fuels and the need for mitigating existing internal combustion engines carbon footprint.

In partnership with Universities of Hull and Newcastle, Dark Green Group commissioned research into rDME (renewable Dimethyl Ether) use in combustion engines, to consider the utilisation of it in our future developments and the benefit for those hard to abate sectors such as HGV transport and shipping.
